TERMS & CONDITIONS

To ensure the well-being and maximum safety of both the client ‘s pet(s) and the pet’s carer we require all our clients to read, sign and follow our terms & conditions.

 

PAYMENTS & RESERVATIONS

Walk and Wag Walking and Doggy Daycare Service, which includes Pet Sitting must be paid for in in full in advance at the time of booking. Services shall not be provided until cleared payment confirmation has been received. EFT may take up to 3 working days to clear. If transfer payment is made less than 3 days prior to service, on transfer, please email a copy of your bank payment transmission to info@walkandwag.com.au.

PICKUP AND DROP-OFF TIMES

Pickup and drop-off times may require some flexibility to accommodate frequently changing clientele needs, suburbs serviced and weather conditions. Unless specifically required, dogs that are walked while their owners aren’t home are usually done anytime between 9am and 5pm.

 

CANCELLATIONS

Walk & Wag understand that life can throw us some curveballs and that cancelations can arise, so please make sure you inform us ASAP in regards to cancelling a service.  We require 24 hours’ notice and can be informed via text, email or phone call.  Late cancellations or late rescheduled bookings will be charged at full price.

 

KEY ACCESS

It is preferred that clients supply access keys at our free meet & greet.  If this is not possible, alternative arrangements will be discussed during the free meet & greet.

 

Our client held keys are securely kept and are identified only by a number system not an address.  Keys remain the property of the client at all times.

 

Walk & Wag requires clear and easy access to your dogs. If, however we can't walk your dog’s due to access problems, you will be charged the full fee.

 

For Drop-In Pet Sitting, it is your responsibility to ensure that Walk and Wag can gain easy access to your pets and their food and water. 

 

Please fix any faulty locks, doors or obstructions to house or yard entry prior to service.  If for some reason a key is not left and a Locksmith is needed to gain entry to your pets, then you will be accountable and incur a full locksmith fee.

MEET & GREET

Prior to commencement of first service for new clients, a complimentary no obligation meet & greet is required to discuss and customise a package to meet both the pet owner(s) and their pet(s) requirements. The meeting will enable your pet(s) and Walk and Wag to start bonding and become familiar with each other.

 

Pet owners will be required to complete appropriate documentation to enable valuable information to be collected regarding your pet’s personality, behaviours, dietary needs, medical history etc. This information enables Walk and Wag to take the appropriate measures to ensure the highest level of care is being provided during your absence.  Further information will be discussed and shared at the Meet and Greet such as:

 

  • Reading and signing Terms and Conditions.

  • Discuss and arrange walk days and times.

  • Discuss and arrange how Walk and Wag will gain (independent?) access to your dog and lead.

  • Discuss Walk and Wag’s ability and willingness to be flexible on any arrangements made at this time if communication is received prior to a scheduled dog walk.

  • Discuss and arrange payment agreement.

 

DAMAGES & VET CARE

Walk and Wag shall provide services in a reliable, safe, sanitary and trustworthy manner.  We endeavor to take the best possible care of your pet.

 

The Client acknowledges that Walk and Wag allows dogs to play and interact directly with one another off leash.  The Client further acknowledges that whilst Walk and Wag will take all appropriate precautionary measures, injuries to pets may occur.  The Client acknowledges and agrees that Walk and Wag will not be held liable for any death, injury, illness or legal consequence to their pet or their property while in the care of Walk and Wag. Should your dog cause any damage to person, animal or property the Client agrees to be held solely liable for repair, damages and veterinary costs. 

 

Should any pet become ill or injured while with Walk and Wag, we reserve the right to administer necessary aid, and, if necessary, transport your pet to a vet.  The Client acknowledges that any expenses incurred shall be the responsibility of the Client.  Walk and Wag will attempt to contact the owner and the pet’s own vet but reserves the right to transport the pet to another vet if necessary.  Please make sure your Vet is aware that we have been contracted to care for your dog whilst you are away. We also recommend leaving your credit card details with your chosen vet. 

 

Walk & Wag may use their discretion to stop/suspend the service at any time that a pet poses a danger to the safety or health of itself, other pets, other people or the Pet Sitter.

 

PET ACCESS

The Client is responsible for pet proofing their house, balconies and yard, and the security of fences/gates/latches.  Walk & Wag will not be responsible for the safety of any pet(s), or held liable for the death, injury, disappearance, or legal consequences of any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors.

 

HEALTH

The Client understands that all pets accepted must be in good general health.  Vetenarian information and proof of all required vaccinations must be provided to Walk and Wag during the initial interview, and immediately upon any changes.  Pets must be on a flea and tick prevention program whilst in our care. 

 

Walk and Wag will only consider dogs that have been fully vaccinated, council registered, microchipped, socialized, have a non- aggressive behaviour and pets that have been de-sexed.

 

If your pet requires medication Walk and Wag must be informed and it is the pet owner’s responsibility to ensure sufficient and non-expired medication is supplied during the service period.

 

Pet Owners are responsible for supplying a copy of written, up to date vaccination proof. Cats require current F3 & dogs require current C5.

 

Walk and Wag reserves the rights to refuse to take any dog if they show aggressive behavior at time of pick up or signs of illness and or are taking medication for transmittable virus or sickness.

 

PRIVACY STATEMENT

All information given to Walk and Wag will be kept confidential and private at all times. No information will be sold, shared or exchanged with any other business.

 

 

SUPPLIES/EQUIPMENT

The Client is responsible for supplying the necessary, safe equipment needed for the care of their pet(s), including but not limited to a sturdy well-fit harness (halter, collar, etc.) A lead rope or leash for walks.

GENERAL

Walk & Wag will only consider unleash walks for regular clients whose dogs have built a trusting relationship with us and have the appropriate nature towards other dogs and people and will come on command.

 

Walk and Wag reserves the right to refuse services during adverse weather conditions that can be a risk to either or both the animals and Walk and Wag staff during service (this includes thunder, lighting & strong wind gales).

 

The Client agrees to expressly disclose to Walk and Wag, any known behavioural or aggressive related problems that their pet has with other animals, humans, toys or food.  ​

 

The client states that he/she has read this agreement in its entirety and fully understands and accepts its terms and conditions.
